HOTEL Royal Signature, the latest addition to Kuala Lumpur’s hospitality scene, is presenting its first iftar buffet themed “Sajian Titian Desa”.

Guests can expect an extensive spread of over 200 meticulously crafted dishes, showcasing an array of traditional Malay and international dishes served at its Asian Pot restaurant.

Highlights include the Western-infused Kambing Golek which blends a traditional favorite with an innovative twist, Kedah specialty Fish Head Curry, Gulai Kawah Tulang Rawan, Asam Pedas Tail Melaka and satay.

Minnesota penalizes county jail for depriving inmate of food and water for more than 2 days

The Minnesota Department of Corrections has penalized a county jail for depriving an inmate of food and water for more than two days as punishment after he smeared feces in his cell and refused to clean it up.

The department ordered the Otter Tail County Jail in Fergus Falls to transfer all current inmates to new facilities by the close of business Thursday. The prison will be allowed to keep new inmates no more than 72 hours, excluding holidays and weekends, until the state agency approves.

UK food delivery driver who bit customer’s thumb “clean” off over pizza dispute pleads guilty

An English woman who was filling in for a friend as a delivery driver in the UK has reportedly pleaded guilty to grievous bodily harm more than a year after a customer said she bit off her finger during a dispute. CBS News’ partner BBC News reported that 35-year-old Jenniffer Rocha bit the customer’s finger “clean” off in December 2022.

Cardboard boxes are now ‘like gold’ to food banks struggling to keep up with demand

The cost of cardboard is the latest struggle London’s food bank is adding to its list of problems, with ever-increasing demand putting pressure on the supply of boxes used to store and distribute food.

It’s yet another example of the increasingly tight situation food banks across the country are finding themselves in as inflation and other factors drive up the cost of food, rent, and even cardboard, said London Food Bank co-director Glen Pearson.

Calvert County Farmers Markets Return with Local Food, Products – Southern Maryland News Net

Buying local is easy with an abundance of fresh food from Calvert County’s farmers, agri-businesses and watermen. Patrons can find local produce, meat, bedding plants (vegetables and herbs) and a bounty of other offerings.

The Calvert County Farmers Market Association is seeking vendors for its Prince Frederick, Dunkirk and Lusby markets.

These are “producers only” markets; all vegetables, fruits, herbs, tree nuts, meats, flowers, plants and other products sold at the market must be grown or produced by a local farmer or vendor. Applications can be submitted throughout the farmers market season.
